99% of fitness coaches get it wrong.
They recommend:
> Rigid meal plans
> Intense cardio
> Too much, too fast
Here is what you should do if you're looking to drop 20lbs:
1) Start slow
James clear talks about this in Atomic Habits.
Aim for 1% better daily.
Walk 1,000 steps above your baseline per day until you get to 10,000.
No need to go do HIIT sprints the first day and then quit a week later
2) Use tools
Sitting is terrible for you, so a standing desk is ideal.
Pair that with a desk treadmill and you can burn fat while working or watching tv.
Tools allow you to invest in health and use less willpower for the same result. Spend cash or willpower, your choice.
3) Use Environment
Monkey see, monkey do. Keep cheez it's out of your cabinet.
Put protein shakes, bars and sparkling water at eye level in your fridge.
Use the desk treadmill to walk while watching tv. Keep it close. Do home workouts so you don't have to drive anywhere.
4) Keep it simple
Fundamentals always win. You don't need flashy workout routines, clothes, or diets.
Walk while working.
Walk watching tv.
Swap foods.
Eat more protein.
Keep processed food out of your cabinets.
Make it so damn easy to burn fat that you feel stupid saying no.
5) Follow a checklist
This removes decision fatigue.
There are a few things you should be doing daily, weekly, monthly.
Take the habits and put them in google calendar as recurring with notifications. Answer to google calendar, not yourself.
Turns out, I have made a checklist so you don't have to. Here ya go, it's free
